The Department of Public Social Services (DPSS) is seeking motivated individuals to join the Los Angeles County Community Action Board (CAB). The CAB is a mandated advisory board under Federal law and generally oversees the implementation of the various social service poverty programs funded with the County's Community Services Block Grant (CSBG) allocation. The CAB consists of fifteen members: five (5) representatives of the public sector; five (5) representatives of the low-income sector, and five (5) representatives of the private sector. The CAB meets every third Thursday of each month from 1:00 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. Meetings are currently held online. This is an exciting and rewarding experience. Members interact with other enthusiastic community members and represent the CAB at national and local events. Although individuals serve as volunteers, mileage and travel expenses incurred on official duty are reimbursed. Join the CAB and make a difference in your community.
